About these terms

These terms apply when you buy a table on this website. Please read them before you order. Our company details are at the end of this page, and you can contact us at hello@marblediningtables.co.uk.

Our tables

Every table is made to order in the marble, shape and, for rectangular tables, the length you choose. Marble is a natural stone, so the colour and veining of your table will differ from our pictures and from other tables in the same marble. This is part of the character of the stone, not a fault.

Because every table is cut to order, its finished dimensions may differ from those listed by up to 10 mm.

Ordering

When you order for delivery in mainland UK, you pay in full and we email you to confirm your order. The contract between us is formed when we send that email. If we can't accept your order, for example because of an error in a price or description, we'll tell you and refund your payment in full.

You can also order through a quote: choose Order now on a table's page, or ask for a delivery quote if you're outside mainland UK. We'll send you a quote, valid for 28 days, and the contract between us is formed when you accept it.

Prices and payment

Prices are in pounds sterling. If they include VAT, we say so next to them. For delivery in mainland UK, you pay the full price when you order, and delivery is free.

For Northern Ireland, the Highlands and islands, and outside the UK, table prices are the same and delivery is quoted for your address. Orders through a quote, including Order now, are paid by invoice once you've accepted the quote. Quotes are valid for 28 days. Invoices must be paid within 7 days of receipt, and we don't cut any slab or start making your table until yours is paid.

Making and delivery

Your table is made to order, which usually takes 10–12 weeks from when your order is confirmed or, for orders paid by invoice, from when your payment reaches us. If it's going to take longer than expected, we'll let you know as soon as we can.

Our own two-person team of specialists delivers your table. We'll give you a delivery day, then our delivery team will phone you and try to give you a four-hour delivery window on the day.

Your table is your responsibility from the time it's delivered to you, and it becomes yours once we've received payment in full.

Cancelling your order

Every table is cut to your order, so it's a bespoke item. You can cancel your order until the stone for your table has been ordered and cut: email us at hello@marblediningtables.co.uk as soon as you can, and if it hasn't been, we'll refund your payment in full. Once the stone has been ordered and cut, your order can't be cancelled.

Because your table is made to your specifications, the 14-day right to cancel under the Consumer Contracts Regulations doesn't apply. This doesn't affect your rights if your table is faulty or not as described.

If something is wrong with your table

Please check your table carefully when it's delivered, before you sign for it, and report any damage immediately, while our team is with you. Photos help. This doesn't affect your legal rights.

By law, your table must be as described, fit for purpose and of satisfactory quality. If it isn't, you can reject it for a full refund within 30 days of delivery. After that, you can ask us to repair or replace it, and if that isn't possible or doesn't put things right, you're entitled to a price reduction or a refund. Citizens Advice can tell you more about your rights.

Guarantee

We don't offer a guarantee on top of your legal rights, which are explained above.

Our responsibility to you

If we don't keep to these terms, we're responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of that, but not for loss or damage that isn't foreseeable. Nothing in these terms limits our responsibility where it would be unlawful to do so, including for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud. These terms don't affect your legal rights as a consumer.

These terms are governed by English law. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you can also bring legal proceedings in your local courts.
